Did a youth regatta in dun laoghire Ireland today when a schull of 40 knots came in. Amazing speed. 50 peopla out of 110 had to be rescued by the RNLI (not me though :)) 15 went to hospital. what a day!

Hi blacklionboy,
I am sure I'm allowed (I hope so, Bradley) to say, that the community of TLF is really very happy to read, that you and the fleet of young sailors you've joined at least could be rescued.
Your smile me says, you are back in a good mood, aft having made such an experience. Respect to you and all your young sailing mates!
I guess, you agree to me, why it is so important on the water, to wear allways the bouyancy aid correct and to try to stay/swim allways on/at the hull, if a big breeze did blow you out of the boat and the boat capzised.
Chapeau blacklionboy!

Good sailing to you and all the others of you.

just to say that the media made a bigger deal of this than it was. sure it was really windy and a gd few ppl got cold and some hurt. but the host club had the situation fully under control. the media were just looking to "make" another big story

Haha, i thought so when the majority of the article was about the boats turning over (capsizing.) obviously not written by a sailor.
