Definitely Michigan.

Hey Mama!
I'm in Rockford, not far. Usually sail Sparky at Pierce Lake at Rock Cut State Park. Had a memorable trip on her camping in the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior last year with Matt of "Adventures In Reach". I'd be happy to bring her in to Chicago for a flotilla, maybe to Wilmette beach?
I occasionally come to Chicago with my Hobie Cat to sail from Burnham Harbor, but usually sail that boat on one of the Madison WI lakes.

“She’s a Peach!”

Minneapolis’ish here.

Friends have land in Port Wing, WI. We are up there a couple times a summer.

Also saw you’re in the Bay Area. I grew up in the South Bay… small world.
I'm in Santa Rosa and sail on Tomales Bay and up the Russian River. That's Tomales in my profile photo. Our place in Wisconsin is on a decent sized lake and has great sailing. We're on the north side and the wind generally comes out of the south-southwest. So, tack into the wind and run home! Minnesota must be similar. We had a great drive home last summer from Wisconsin and through Minnesota. Up to Watersmeet on the UP, east on the 2 and through Duluth.

We are new to Smithfield VA and sail on Burwell Bay, on the western shore of the James River, across from Newport News.

A good portion of my ancestral spirit is living up there by the Kche Mbesen - Great Lakes. I have ties to the Potawatomi Confederation of Ojibwe, Odawa and and Bodwewadmi. Some of Skipper's people trickled into town right here at Smithfield.

Bama pi - Later!

I love sailing the Great Lakes! So far I've sailed on Erie, Michigan, and Superior. Planning on Huron. Would like to complete the set with Ontario.
So how do you pronounce "Kche Mbesen"? K'chee (like Kitchee but with a glottal after the K)? (E)mbesen with the E dropped and the m only used to start the b? (I'm guessing here, obviously!)

I’ve sailed my Sunfish on all the Great Lakes except Ontario.

Howdy

Thanks for asking tag. Kche Mbesen, the e in Algonquin sounds more like a soft u or uh. There is no u in the language. So "Kuchuh m-buh-suhn."

bama pee (See you later. There's no goodbye equivalent since we plan to see folks again soon.)

Insert random Algonquin paddle photo here. It came today from Shaw & Tenney, wonderfully light.

Ludlow Ma. just northeast of Springfield. Spend most of our summer on the Conn. River just below Springfield, at the Pioneer Valley Yacht Club, ourpvyc.net where you'll see us on various sailboats. By the way, I think I just bought a Phantom.
