The ILCA Dinghy became a reality

I'm not understanding, is that good or it is not, that these plaques mentoring Bruce Kirby ?
Well, opinions vary a lot about whether that's good or bad. It may be good for Bruce because he MAY be getting a royalty on these boats. But I believe that this is tied up in court in the USA. It's all quite complicated :(

There are rumors that these ILCA Dinghies (brought into Canada by PSA) may be getting sold after the regatta. If so, LaserPerformance won't like that idea at all and may start a legal process to prevent that from happening. All speculation as of today (Aug 16)!

Most of boats will be holden by charter owners, I wrote around 1 week ago and I asked them about these ILCA boats, they told me that 80% of all ILCA's already owned by different charter companies, so I think soon we will see these boats on some international European events F.E Senior International in Greece, Kalamata in 2020. Anyway, we'll see everything soon)

I think it's basically a good thing that the designer of the boat gets at least this tiny piece of respect. He's 90 years old and deserves it, even though (even) I think he's made some not-smart moves during the last 10 or so years.

I believe PSA has been paying royalties to him all the time, and PSJ hasn't. Whether LP will pay any old dues is being decided in court. It's a long story...

Who are "they"? Which charter companies and where? Weren't these boats supposed to go back to Australia? Or are they going first there and then to the charter companies?

(I still don't understand why these boats couldn't be sold anywhere now that they aren't new anymore. And specifically as "Lasers" as well.)

I think some part of boats will be sold, and new boats that are coming now and in future will have decals/plaques ILCA. About Kirby, I got you, and he deserves much more respect for sure, appreciate him. And if I'd find now exactly ILCA boat, I'd like to get it, but I already got one, Australian too, 210xxx, so probably will just change these starboard/port decals and it will look good
