New sail...excited...sorry...

Hard hiking at the end of a 3hr race, killer
Can't help but share, it's ready to collect and just needs my logo on.

Is this something you had made? Or has one of the replica makers branched out into different color sails now?

The sail numbers looks really sharp. I'd really like to see how it looks on the boat. Probably depends on the hull color.

I had it made Torrid.
It's going on a black hull/ dawn grey deck, white spars, grey / white rigging, black foils....
No doubt I'll post a pic on Saturday

Lolz Andy... I got it for myself for making it to 46
It was actually a toss up - a hero 3 or this sail... I've got my experia z1 but the destructions say it doesn't like salt water so I'm still vid less, for now..

Not an intensity sail. It was made by a small loft in the UK I believe. Voodoo will confirm shortly I would imagine...if he is not too excited still!

Now how cool is that?!?! The Dark Lord of Death is what people will be thinking as they see your boat approach.

So, is the main sheet set close at hand so you can let her go in case of a gust? Cause... looks like there's something bending the upper branches of the 3 trees in the background.

And how come no upper batten? Saw it in the pile in the original sail loft picture. You gotta get a friend to shoot some video of you sailing. Your set up is bad ass.

=)

Sorry, makes me grin like a schoolgirl with a secret.
Heh, I had my bigger daughter tugging on the sheet, just as I took this pic a gust hit and the boat went sideways
"LET GO LET GO ". Lolz, we did laugh....
It's been blowing gales here, well spotted. I had to rig up in the lee of the barn and keep her head to...hence the moody pics.

The batten, it was under the sail bag, I didn't see it immediately and was in a right hurry to get the sail up before it belted down. I took a chance there - see the power lines about six foot from the leech ?

Excuse the slack traveller, main focus was on the sail

AHA ! Wicked !
Blackened...just so right...
Gonna go slot some chickens, spit some rum & chew on a cigar..

Your photographic efforts are much appreciated. Really like the one with your daughter in the background hoiken' on the main sheet.

Maybe I'll have to have someone make me an all Lime Green sail. Just to be different. Just to tweak people. Problem is, you already took the coolest color.

Really nice, Voodoo. At some point, have someone take some on-the-water pics of you sailing her with other boats around. I'd like to see that.

Ta guys.
I'm not meaning to be a poser here or showing off/flash tosser, I'm hoping to merely show that even a 20 year old (almost ) scratched up outdated boat, given love time effort and a few quid can not just look great but is structurally solid.

Was it you who came up with the idea for a black sail and asked Sail Medic if they could do it or was it something you found them selling? They are now listing them on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quality-S...UK_Sporting_Goods_Sailing&hash=item27dec6e967 at £180 (GBP).

Let us know how you find the quality after a few times on the water. Thats not a bad price. Some others like rooster and l think the intensity one work out cheaper but one else seems to offer the colour option plus numbers and fitting. If the black Medic sail sells you may have just started a new trend.

I like some of the art designs that have been created on laser sails of later. I hear the class rules maybe changing regarding where you can put sponsors on the sail ( l believe banning on the sail window). http://www.rya.org.uk/newsevents/news/Pages/ArtonLasersaildrawsacrowdattheRYADinghyShow.aspx

Mornin'
I called a few lofts, one quoted outrageous numbers another got funny and pompous about a one design class infringement, another was way (too) cheaper but gave me a six week wait ( guess they were going to order one from Far East supplier and charge me a ransome )...
Tom gave me a reasonable quote and I knew it was gonna be made here & properly.
These e- bay ones are 60% less than mines though !
Of course I'll let you all know how it sails, when I eventually get back to the club !

I love that last pic above, ^^ they should've done the spars and foils aswell though.

I heard today that Hyde cut their sails ten at a time.
Stack up ten bits of cloth and laser cut 'em !
Might explain the slight variations we experience if it's true and it relies on the person piling up the stack.

Uk Laser sailor - I'd rather retain the individualism than be a trendsetter mate ! Tbh I'd be a bit gutted if black sails started appearing all over the place. I'm gonna tell everyone there's nothing but issues Lolz.

I am subsceptical to a bit of flattery as it goes....
Just so long as the world remembers where it began

They do laser cut the cloth though (so i am told) so as long as it is all flat the panels should be the same size....now the stiching and gluing is another matter...

Did you speak to Ian Morgan about your sail Voodoo? I am sure he would have done you a good deal....

No mate but he does make a quality sail and at a good price and he is a nice guy (he hangs round here too on occasion). He did me a sail about 18 months ago now, it looks very nice and does perform well. Might be worth bearing in mind should you want another coloured sail ;-).
