    Hi Folks,

I came across a 1974 Sunfish, thats been sitting (deck down) outside for a few years. The spars and the rest of the rigging have been kept inside. Nearly everything is original, except the sail was replace at some point. There is a whole on the bottom that was epoxied. The owner is asking $500.00. I was wondering what all of you thought might be a fair value. I realize it's hard to put a value on something without pictures. I am just trying to get a ball park value. Also, what possible red flags should I be looking forwith this boat?

    Thanks,

$500 sounds high for an old boat like that. LIFT THE BOAT SEE IF IT HEAVY. OPEN THE PORTS LOOK INSIDE. CHECKTHE BLADE TRUNK MAKE SURE IT;S NOT BROKEN.
FILL THE MAST STEP WITH WATER SEE IF IT'S LEAKING. ROLL IT OVER PRESS ON THE BOTTOM SEE IF IT'S SOFT. IF IT'S SET UP FOR RACEING BLADE ,SAIL ECT.. IT MIGHT BE WORTH IT. IF THE BOTTOM HAS NO JELL COAT OR IS COVERED WITH RESEN $200
