At the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship, Connie Miller, the Class Representative for the Region, announced that the Sunfish Class has decided on a new format for its newsletter, Windward Leg. In the future, Windward Leg will be published on the web. Members should still be able to receive a print copy by paying an extra fee.
As far as background, we were told that Windward Leg has been loosing money, and the class officers decided that this situation would be detrimental to the Class in the long run. Of course, the current state of the economy must have played a role, since the only income for the newsletter is from ads. Moreover, a gradual shift from classical print towards digital publication has been ongoing for quite some time. Hopefully, the new format for Windward Leg will be successful for many years to come.
