Anyone here ever sew or have a window sewn into their sail?

    Thanks

Interesting that you brought that up... because I was going to do this before too long with an old Sunfish race sail that has no window.

Here's a video on how to do it. I plan on following the steps in that video.

I am all for a DIY job, but one can get a nice NON-LEGAL race sail with window for $125

One can also take your sail to a sailmaker to get a window installed, but that will cost more, I imagine.

PS: If you want to race, be sure to follow the Sunfish class rules regarding the size and position of the window.

Its a starfish sail not a sunfish sail and I will never race again. Had plenty of racing time crewing for Ted Turner types.

    :) No crew needed on a Sunfish/Starfish...

I have no interest in going racing whether crewed or uncrewed boats.
