In order to adapt a wing sail on the laser I need to know the diameter of the pocket...\\Chuck
The mast diameter is 2.5" so the pocket is a little larger than that. Same diameter mast is used on the Laser, Force 5 and Zuma.
I don't have a boat near me, but I am positive the diameter of a Laser mast is a lot more than 2.5" . Is the radius 2.5"?? I don't know that, just guessing.
I would guess that 2.5" diameter is closer... the mast on the Sunfish is 2.25" diameter. If 2.5" is correct I can use a sleeve to adapt the wing sails I have now to the Laser. Thanks
Definitely diameter 64 millimeter (about 2.5 US") will work.
Just to mention: At the Laser, the mast-tube is an oval hole -> means: the smaller diameter (thats to the sides, aka starboard/portside) is as said before: ~64 mm (+/- 1 mm tolerance).
Thanks for the info...a sleeve will work, I will need to modify the control line area that is now just behind the mast where the two turning blocks are located...but not a big problem.
Looking forward to Sailing your Laser Wing Sail @ http://www.solidwingsails.com/
Not really - looks sketch as.
Is there a price and availability on the Wing sails yet ?
