ok, newbie here.....

i see the drain plug at the bottom center of stern. i have opened it while not in boat (it was on the mooring and i was swimming) and nothing came out although i am pretty certian there is water in the hull.

does the boat have to be on trailer to let water drain?? the boat only comes out at the end of the season.

is there supposed to be water ballast in the hull ?

thanks for any feedback.

Water in the hull

Oh, yeah, you have water in the bilges. And no, there is no such thing as water ballast for the Capri 14.2.

You shouldn't sail before draining it out, because the boat will be way out of balance. The only way to drain it is to get the hull out of the water. You can either pull it out on the trailer or use the trailer to just get it far enough out so the drain plug is above the water. I don't know how much water you took on, but at 8 lbs. a gallon it may be kinda heavy. If so, I hope your car has a lotta torque...

PS - When you pull it out, be sure the bow is fastened to the trailer. When the water runs to the stern it's going to want to tilt the bow up!
