US Masters National Championship

If you are 35 or older and not going to the Worlds in Brazil, the next best thing to do (though I would argue it is THE BEST THING) is the US Masters National Championship hosted by Severn Sailing Association in Annapolis, Maryland September 30 - October 2.

The Notice of Race is online and registration is open: Http://www.laserdistrict11.org/usmasters/

There will be three great days of sailing, 2 fantastic dinners, good beer, fine wine, all the water and gatorade you can drink...all while sailing on North America's largest estuary, the Chesapeake Bay, home to more than 3,600 species of plants, fish and animals.

In the past 10 years Severn Sailing Association has hosted hosted a ton of major Laser regattas, including the 1995 US Championship, 1998 Atlantic Coast Championship, 2001 Masters Atlantic Coast Championship, and the 2003 Atlantic Coast Championship. This regatta will be heavily attended. You wont want to miss it. There is no doubt in my mind that we will once again push the 100 boat barrier. It probably will not match the North American Masters in Newport a few years ago (that has got to be the greatest ever) but you certainly will not go home disappointed.
