TLF State of the Forum Address:
1. The constitution is going to be simplified to a TOS. Simply stating to
please respect others, and we won't delete your post unless its spam. This new TOS will be released shortly. The forum is not that complex and doesn’t require 4 pages of type about how to edit or not edit your post.
2. Moderators - There will be no moderation. The forum will be ran like
the mailing list. At this time there will be no moderators, only Ken Wilson and myself (Bradley Green) have advanced prividges on the forum.
3. Message Boards -
The current setup will be left as is unless the need for a new forum
arrives. The main case may be if the political stuff flows over to the
forum, in that case a board will be created for it.
4. Mailing List Issues
A. The ILCA-NA mailing list has been moved to http://www2.laserforum.org/vb/show.php?pg=archives
B. There has been some talk of a Laser Forum Email List. A new thread will be started on this in Laser Talk, please post your comments and/or suggestions. There are several options for this, and a large amount of technology avaliable for us to use.
5. Editing Your own post- Is allowed for 15 minutes after you have made
the post. At that time it will be perminantly locked down.
6. Membership - Has grow recently as people realize the benefits of the
forum.
7. Non Registered Post- Users not registered will be allowed to post, in
hopes they will enjoy the forum, and register at a later time. This
feature will be allowed indefinately.
8. Publicity - Nothing to do here. Just make sure the link stays on the
Class Website. If you see a sailing/laser website that has a links section and doesn’t include TLF please email them and let them know!
9. TLF Guide to Lasering – The New format is now online! Please check it out, or contact me if you are interested in submitting articles or information.
The Laser Forum has high hopes for the future. Please help us spread the word, in print, emails, and the best way of all, word of mouth.
