This is a difficult boat to buy

Well, I wanted to buy a Sunfish, but I had NO idea it would be so difficult.

First of all, there is ONE dealer in my entire state (Washington), and they will not return any sort of inquiry, whether it be by phone or email. No responses at all.

There are no used ones in this area at all.

The online dealers are charging 2000 dollars for shipping, which is a total non starter.

Have these boats always been so difficult to buy?

Unfortunately for whatever reason Sunfish have never been big in the Pacific Northwest. It is too bad the dealer won't respond, although the dealer may not have any boats in stock anyway, but the next time they get a Laser delivery you'd think they could just get a Sunfish put on the truck. I guess keep trying, or call Laser Performance and see if they can wake the dealer up.

Try a local Craigslist "Wanted" ad—"New Posting"...

Use their "code" [Olympic Pen, wa, us]...or some other WA-based...

Even better than responses to "For Sale".

Offer $2000. You may find one—with trailer—in perfect condition tomorrow!

Marine Service Center is the dealer for WA; is that the one that is unresponsive?
Not exactly nearby, I found the following LP dealers:
West Coast Sailing in Portland OR and
Sail Montana in Kalispell MT
