The water temps on the river are still in the 60s! Here is the schedule for the 2008/2009 Barrington Frostbite Assn. Sunfish racing hosted by the Barrington Yacht Club.

Fall Series:

Oct.26: Practice Race

Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Dec. 7, 14, 21

Spring Series:

March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

April 5, 12, 26

I know we are late getting this information out, but the reason for the delay is also reason for renewed excitement in Frostbiting in Barrington : Over the past several weeks a team of BYC members and non-member racers has been working together on rejuvenating the fleet after a somewhat disappointing turnout last year.

As those of you know who sailed last winter, we had a small but very competitive group of racers on the water each Sunday. The goal this year is to reach out beyond that core and get back folks who have moved away from the fleet, and to reach new potential sailors.

For this upcoming season the following people have agreed to leadership roles:

Event Chair – John Hause
Fleet Captain – Bill Harris
Scorekeeper - Andy David
Race Committee Chairmen, Peter Armstrong and Leo Berendes

You can view the NOR/SIs for the upcoming season here: http://newenglandsunfish.com/uploads/Frostbite_202008-2009_20NOR-SI_1_.doc

Please read them carefully and note that several rules have changed, including the overall scoring system and the return of the “B Fleet.”

Thanks a lot and we hope to see a huge turnout on Oct. 26 and beyond. Bring a friend!
