I have a weekend house with a boat dock on Lake Hartwell, Georgia. I'm thinking about getting a Capri 14 to sail on the lake. Will a Capri 14 "self-bail" while tied to a dock or do I need to get a cockpit cover to keep the rain out. Dry sailing would be a problem since there is no boat ramp nearby. I do have power at the dock and could install an electrical bilge pump if necessary. Your thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

    No Pump, but

It will self bail. I keep mine on a dock with a Sailors Tailor Cockpit cover. I use the cover to protect a flaked main sail over the boom . This allows me not to rig the main sail each time. It also keeps down the UV damage on the hatch, tiller and hiking straps.
