Soft hull

hello I'm new to Capri 14 sailing. Used to sail beach catamarans. My uncle gave my son a capri which is old, 1977, and was sitting outside for a long time. It has a crack in the hull right at the bench seat well wall and I'm not sure what caused it but it goes all the way through. At first glance it looks hard to get to the back side since the seat wall is in the way. My bigger concern is that the hull seems soft all over but maybe the hull is always a bit flexible? Not sure what is normal. I don't want to spend time fixing the crack if the entire boat is compromised. Any suggestions?

I also don't have a trailer. A dolly may be all I need or a good deal on a small trailer would be good, any suggestions where to look? The boat is in Arizona.
