I owned a Catalina 27 from 1987-93. Spent most of the time just cruising, but also did the Wed night PHRF in Boston Harbor. Sold the boat when we had kids. Now they are graduated from college and it's time to get back into sailing.
I'd like a boat in the 36' range that is a comfortable cruiser. But I'd also like it to be fun to race PHRF or one design.
Likely I'll buy used. Catalina has a nice boat in this size range. Any other options without breaking the bank?
