Race Equipment Questions - wind direction compass, etc.

As many of you know, our club, Seabrook Sailing Club, was damaged by Ike. As a result, most of our race gear washed away. We've reclaimed a lot, but some major items need replacing, now. We miraculously found our racing flags, and even a few hippity hop marks, but the gear bags are all gone. Anybody know where to buy the hand bearing compass with the string/yarn on a stick used for reading the wind direction? Or does everyone just modify something like a Davis 211 compass? Also, does anybody have experience with the different types of marks? WHat's the difference in durability between the lower cost and higher cost marks? We need to replace most of our 5' orange cylinders. Any suggestions that way would be good, too. We're moving ahead planning on hosting events in 2009, and are committed to doing what it takes to remain a vital and active part of the D15 and NA Laser circuit. (Latest news: the damaged club house has been razed and removed and we're in the middle of creating the site plan for the new buildings. Next, we'll create construction docs and be on the way to having a super brand new clubhouse for all to enjoy!)
