The local store is selling one of the original practice mark II sail with the blue laser logo. Is this the same sail as the one that is currently being sold? Would i be able to use in class regattas?
    thanks

That sucks. Why would anyone buy a sail that you can't use in a regatta, especially since it's the same price as the new one.
    thanks

I believe that only a relatively small percentage of the Mark IIs got the blue insignia stamped on them. The sailmakers wanted to get rid of their then-existing stock about a year ago, and now those sails are in the hands of the dealers, who will eventually have to lower the price to get them sold.

It was never intended as a regatta sail, sold from the get-go as a practice sail. The price should reflect that.

Agreed. I wouldn't pay more than $250 for such a sail, now that the legal Mk II is out.
