Hail all, I just acquired a 14.2 (Mod 2, hull 4129) that hasn't been in the water in many years. First thing I did was order all new lines, shrouds, a forestay and whisker pole. The plan is to put the boat together in time to enter the ABYC Boxing Day Regatta which will actually be on held this year, on New Year’s Eve, just a month away! This is a classic inverted start regatta around Alamitos Bay Marina in Long Beach, that's open to all comers, (from 30-foot-plus sproties to Sabots) Expect to be the only boat of the 50 or so that typically enter, to be sporting faded, rainbow-colored sails. Don't think I'll get much respect at the marks. Good this is a low key regatta. But first, in addition to re-rigging the whole boat, I'll need to strip off the old bottom, and apply a new one, since the boat will be kept in the water. So... I've got a ton of questions. But I'll post those in separate threads. Just wanted to get on the board first.
