Hello Laser, Laser Radial Racers and Friends:

Alamitos Bay Yacht Club (ABYC) in Long Beach CA is hosting the 2012 Laser District 25 Championship Regatta in conjunction with our 2012 Labor Day Holiday Regatta September 1st and 2nd: http://www.abyc.org/event.cfm?id=484 .

Additionally, the Southern California Youth Yacht Racing Association (SCYYRA) will use this weekend as the first event of their 2012-2013 Ullman/Frost Series: http://www.scyyra.org/ullman_frost . A separate registration is required to compete in the Ullman/Frost: https://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/applet_registration_form.php?regatta_id=5799

Please note: for the Labor Day Regatta, Lasers and Radials will have the option to race either in the sheltered confines of Alamitos Bay (Bay) or in the traditional ABYC race area in Long Beach Harbor (Ocean). The District 25 Championship and Ullman/Frost Series will be contested in the Ocean ONLY. Sailors wishing to compete for the Laser and Radial District 25 Championships will register on-line with Regatta Network by selecting Laser Full (Ocean) or Laser Radial (Ocean) in the Desired Class drop-down menu box: https://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/applet_registration_form.php?regatta_id=5257
Sailors wishing to race in Alamitos Bay will select Laser Full (Bay) or Laser Radial (Bay) in the Desired Class drop-down menu.

With these options, ABYC is offering racing for both experienced and perhaps less experienced Laser & Radial sailors.

Last year, the Labor Day Regatta, District 25 Championships and Ullman/Frost Series attracted 25 Lasers and 53 Radials. We expect similar fleets this year to compete for the Championship and 2012 ILCA-NA Grand Prix : http://www.nalaser.org/index.php?op...ca-na-grand-prix&catid=21:official&Itemid=250 and Ullman/Frost points.

With a large turn-out, always excellent ABYC Race Management and a fun Mardi Gras themed Saturday party: http://www.abyc.org/upload/Mardi Gras Flyer 2012.pdf we can expect a fine weekend of Laser racing!

Sign-up today and we'll see you at ABYC.
