L2 Price?

I'm looking at purchasing a 1980 Laser II. It doesn't have a spin and the foredeck is apparently soft. Rigging and sails are said to be in good condition. Seller said his bottom line was 950 w/ the trailer and 850 w/o trailer. I know that a kite and kit will run me close to 1000. I have extensive experience re-coring and fiberglassing boats, so fixing the deck shouldn't be a problem. Does anybody know the core material and thickness on the decks? Just wondering if 950 was too high for a boat that is going on 30 w/ soft decks and no spin. I'm inclined to think that it is a bit steep, but it is becoming very difficult for me to locate a L2 anywhere close to my location (Central NC). Just wondering what the forum thinks.
