I recently wrote a message to the D-Secs, ExCom, and other key contributors to the Class asking if they knew of Class members in possission of an 'official' ILCA measurement template. If you have one, or know of someone that does, please send a note to James Appel ([email protected]) and cc: me ([email protected]).

Warm regards,

Didn't anybody in Hyannis have any for the Worlds? Who measured for the Worlds? Was it an NA measurer or an ILCA guy?

Are you kidding? Every boat goes through a rigorous measurement process. Once fully rigged (sometimes with battens removed), it is to be presented to the measurement team. More than a few had to move their sail numbers a few millimeters, adjust rudder sweep, alter running rigging, etc.

Attend a Worlds and see what you are missing. The Rad Worlds and Sr/Master Worlds were both amazing events ....

Buffalo CC, on the other hand, was relative cake to attend for all ILCA-NA members ..... and an open event as well (to those under 185 I suppose). So no excuses on the most recent Rad Worlds!

This may be a little off subject but since i notice you are the president of the ILCA-NA, Ryan, what benifits does a member recieve if they are a member? I am just wondering because I am not a member.

Ah, the benefits of membership question ....

For $35 USD you personally get a subcription to the new and improved "The Laser Sailor", the ILCA Handbook/Rules, get to sail a "Laser" at Laser events, and a membership card.

Because members have consistantly joined the Class, we get a great regatta schedule of great regattas, our boats have a fantastic resale value, Laser One Design rules, etc etc.

I would refer you to past wisdom:
