Some of you readers have asked me to write about reaching in heavy air. Since I don't do much reaching, except for one week in the summer on Sebago Lake in Maine, I decided to check in with one of my laser sailing go-to experts, Clay Johnson, former US Sailing Team Alphagraphics member and now owner of Colie Sails, Point Pleasant, New Jersey. For those of you who don't know Clay he spent the past several years sailing on the world laser regatta circuit competing alongside world-class sailors Paul Goodison, Tom Slingsby and Bruno Fontes among others. Clay has a wealth of knowledge to share so I am excited to announce that he has agreed to become a regular contributor to Center of Effort.
