Medemblik, HollandMay 24, 2008I had great day in Gold Fleet racing in the Laser Radial Class at the Delta Lloyd Regatta 2008 (http://hollandregatta.org/2008v2/) today. We had three races in winds that were ten to 14 knots, with very choppy waves. I finished the day with a 1-1-3 record and locked myself into a Gold or Silver Medal finish to the regatta tomorrow.In the first race, I had a good start in the middle of the line. I lifted off the boats below me so I had a nice big hole to sail in. I rounded the first mark in fourth and lost a boat on the top reach, but sailed an excellent downwind leg to pass into second place at the leeward mark. I held on to second place upwind and took the lead on the last downwind leg. The next race was similar. I rounded in fourth and moved up to third on the downwind leg, and then into second on the next beat, and finally got in front on the last downwind leg.
