Don't you guys have anything better to do than to mock a teen wanting to share the joys of sailing in the Open Discussion section?

It wasnt meant to be terrifying, or fast or anything. It was blowing about 15, and we had 1 reef in the sail. My first time one the boat, my dads as well. We didnt need to go fast.

And have you ever sailed on an open 60? Ever won a regatta? Ever have a dream?

Just giving him a bit of a hard time after he told me to "Get Off This Forum" in this thread after I explained that, for me, the "joy of sailing" a Laser is not all about winning.

Not recently...but I bet I'll beat more than one boat when I do...and I won't put it in big letters in my signature either.

Seriously though, the Open 60 photos were cool.

Sorry possum. I meant to say "Terrific" but I learned how to spell from listening to Avril Lavigne.

No, I've never sailed an Open 60. I'm sure I'd jump at the chance if it were offered.

Yes I've won regattas. But I don't have a signature on this forum telling the world that I am the 200X Laser Champion of Whatever.

Yes I have a dream. That Laser sailors will all get along and stop telling others to "GET OFF THIS FORUM."

Keep up your enthusiasm for sailing. Let your results speak for themselves. Learn that it's not all about winning. Be humble in victory, magnanimous in defeat. Sail fast. Peace.

Alright, winning isnt everything. But it sure is nice. And kinda what we all race for. to give our best shot, and try our hardest.

Sure. A very wise sailor once wrote, "Although winning is the object of the game, it is not the object of playing the game."
