Depowering Laser 4.7 sail

Hey, I just got a new Laser sail from North sails and the first time I used it was in an international regatta. The wind was really blowing on the first day and it seemed that the cunningham wasnt working very well. It might be cause its a new sail but the hole for the cunningham wouldnt touch the boom like some of the other boats. Any tips on how to depower the sail?

Scott, I saw on your videos that you're using a 6:1 cunningham (which is the most common); you might want to try an 8:1 or a 10:1.

Pulling the outhaul flattens only the lowest part of the sail, so it really doesn't depower that much. Don't pull it too tight.
