LONG DISTANCE RACE

DESCRIPTION
The Long Distance Race is a handicap race open to any One Design boat 20' length or under at the water line. The Portsmouth Yardstick D-PN Handicap System will be used to score finishes. See www.ussailing.org/portsmouth. NO OPTIS WILL RACE IN THE LONG DISTANCE RACE DUE TO LONG DISTANCE AND RISK OF OPPRESSIVE HEAT. Advance registration is encouraged at www.fbyc.net.

Skippers Meeting 1000
Warning Signal 1100
Followed by refreshments and awards

There will be a cook out. See flier (doc) for additional details. Reservation required by July 1.

COURSES
The course will be one of the courses described below using government marks in the Piankatank River for marks of the course.


The number of the course selected by the Race Committee will be displayed on the Committee Boat prior to the Warning Signal.

TIME LIMIT
If one boat finishes within 4 hours from the start, the race will be valid for all racers.

AWARDS
The skipper of the winning boat will receive the Hicks Trophy upon which his/her name will be engraved. Other places are as described in the Sailing Instructions.

CBYRA SANCTION
This event is not sanctioned for CBYRA High Point awards.
