Centerboard stop?

I've noticed that every centerboard photo in this forum has a short pin through the centerboard serving as a stop. Mine has an integral stop. Anyone have any info regarding the originality, history of this style? Many thanks! I've gotten so much from this forum.

Centerboard Stop Built in

That's cool! I don't know the origin, but that's one less piece of equipment to worry about. I don't have anything, but the hole and now need to make something up!

I have the same problem on my Mod 1, no stop, also not integrated.

I bought a length of 1/2" threaded pipe. I also bought 1/2" nuts to go with it from LOWES. I think the nuts will put the centerboard too high (1/4") maybe? So my backup plan is to just dip the ends of the threaded pipe in liquid handle (for making grips on pliers)..

Anyway, I will do up pictures when/if I get it done.

PS: I wanted to say thanks to all who offered up pictures, and design improvements. This forum is a God Send. Sailing again this weekend - woohoo!
