Tempe Town Lake (TTL) is expected to open for boating on January 22, allowing the Spring Series for small boats to start on time. We sail on Sunday's starting at 2pm through May 1. TTL is unique in that it was formed by two inflatable dams across the normally dry Salt River. Because of floods in the Verde River watershed which joins the Salt above the Valley, the dams were deflated December 30 allowing considerable brown-colored water to flow unimpeded until late this week. TTL is located just south of the 202 freeway between about Mill and McClintock immediately north of downtown Tempe and Arizona State University. The Marina is west of Scotsdale Blvd. and south of Curry Rd.
