News 2010 Gulf Coast Championship (Laser.org)

The proper name is Seabrook Sailing Club.
SEABROOK SAILING CLUB

On Galveston Bay in Seabrook, TX, it's a terrific sailing venue; wind often builds shortly after noon into a steady and solid breeze up to 18. Houston YC, Texas Corinthian YC and SSC have a long running reputation of outstanding international, national, regional, club regattas on the Galveston Bay. There's plenty of room and and warm tropic waters, though a shallow bay area.

You will find shallow launching and bay dept up to 10 feet. Warm water temps and sense of the sub-tropics right in TX, just a few miles up from the Gulf of Mexico. The city of Houston is 40 miles northwest and the bay area has plenty of entertainment and dining. You will find authentic cajun, mexican and regional foods in Seabrook and Kemah. And a nearby English pub pours fine crafted ale.

There will be no threat from the BP catostrophic spillage.

The sailing club harbour has much room off ramps and deck ramps. It's a great club, with great welcoming spirit. You will be fed well and race much!

I won't be there, and I remain a friend of SSC and District 15 Laser sailing. See you in July following the regattas in TX.
