    Hello fellow sailors
January 15-16-17, 2010 is the 50th Annual Arizona Yacht Club Birthday and Leukemia Cup Regatta.

Come out and thaw yourselves and sunny low desert at Lake Pleasant, Arizona. This year will feature Gary Jobson as the Saturday keynote gust and MC for the evening auction and raffles. There are some fleets that are including all three days in a national fleet regatta within a regatta.

The weekend starts with the first annual Friday Fracas race open to all comers. This event will have its own scoring and awards handed out on Friday night during dinner under the Big Top Tent overlooking the lake.

Saturday begins with a pancake breakfast, followed by Day One of the 50th AYC Birthday and the Leukemia Cup Regatta (run concurrently and scored separately with its own awards). There will also be the Saturday Scrabble Scramble for those after just a hint of competition and cruise around the lake. After racing, celebrate the LCR Winners with dinner, auction, raffles, door prizes, music, and a Q&A with Gary.

Sunday is continental breakfast and early am racing. Wrapping up the regatta are the awards for the Birthday Regatta Winners, bbq lunch, and the invariable “I’ll get you next year!”

Entry, SI, and NOR are available on www.arizonayachtclub.org website or by email reply to azexpedition@gmail.com

Notes: Camping is onsite with local showers available at the marina. Power and water sites are $28, Dispersed camping is included with your $6 daily fee. Several hotels are within easy travel. Late fee for entries after 01/09/2010. This needed for accurate meal and space planning.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

    Best Regards
    Michael Parker
    2010 AYC Birthday Regatta Chairman
