I sailed with the new rudder in heavy air (18-22) on the Sunday before NAC at Rush Creek, TX. My sister-in-law went out too. It was amazing to see the difference in weather helm. My helm so much less than hers.
In regards to heavy air tuning...yes, you can move your gooseneck back and put in...

US Sunfish Masters is fast approaching. Fairhope Yacht Club is hosting this event. For those who know FYC, they put on a great regatta. Ask those who attended the 2007 NAS. Their new club will be open and the sailing venue is awesome.
For 35/40 dollars, this regatta can't be beat.

I am just amazed that 53 sailors participated in a single Regional where maybe only 1 or 2 people qualify
and only 52 and 55 sailors participate in the last two NAs where 20 or so people qualify.

My club (Bay-Waveland Yacht Club (www.bwyc.org)) was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina in 2005. We are opening our new club this week. We are in search of a full sunfish model to be placed behind the Main Bar.

Only Midwinters is used to qualify for US. Yes the winner of the International Masters is invited, but it does not count against the US allotment.

Hospitality, food (WOW!), and the conditions were great at Cypermort YC.
Gumbo, fried fish, boiled crabs, boudin....hmmmm good.
Oh the results...first day honked and the second was light to medium and really shifty. Todd Edwards almost swept with winning 6 out of 7 races.
