thanks guys, it was a really wild experience. I had a feeling it had to do with both of us being on the boat.....probably would have been better to have taken a couple of tacks to get back to the ramp.
4200 is what you should use for those inspection ports. It really doesn't matter if its fast or slow dry. I'd buy the slow and save the 4 bucks. Also, check LL Bean to see if they have those rubber river bags. I bought a nice one from there and they're waterproof and very cheap...probably 25...

I've been a member since 2004, but haven't written for awhile. Last weekend a friend and I took my 78 alcort sunfish out on the local pond. It was blowing pretty hard (white caps) probably 18kts gusting to 23kts. It was wild.
The wind was blowing right at the boat...
what i'd do is gouge out the small crazing cracks out the best i could, and then use, Marinetex, or some other kind of filler, then fair it out. then i'd get some epoxy paint from your local marine store, and paint the decks, and hull if need be. the will make your boat look brand spankin'...
it looks nice, its newish. i'd like to see the boat in person before i bought it because excellent condition can be different for you compared to the seller. i would go for a local sale. but i have no experence in buying things on ebay. good luck!
i was wondering if you people knew what the sunfish's pointing ability is. My sunfish is a 78 with original sails, and it seems that it can't point very well, this could be caused by worn out, stretched sails. In terms of degrees, how far off from the wind can you point with your sunfish?
my only advise is to make sure you don't disrupt the dagger board slot when trying remove the deck. but i think it would be really easy to fix that problem. i would remove the deck, and dry the whole boat out on the inside. then i would let it sit and dry out for a week or so in a garage or...
