Alan, Joe - Thanks for your input. I have been hassling with this for a while. I got the edges down by using the circular saw on a 45 degree angle. Next comes the sander. We'll see how it works. I guess I should have checked the thickness first though, eh? oh well. Dave

I have a broken rudder and a freshly cut piece of maple. How do I finish the edges (this is old style)? Or is this just not worth it? Dave
