if its a new laser, then there will be a sticker on the back of the cockpit that has a number on it going 19xxxx. if its older, then its on the serial number and there are many, many theads on how to read it

one thing about that system, that if something breaks, which it will over time, it will be harder to replace. Say your rivit pops out of the boom, which is keeping your outhaul together, then what? this is alot harder to fix than a line breaking. your stuck in the middle of a race with no way...

oh woops! i should really read things more carefully!! i dont think that a block rivited to the boom is such a hot idea...

well there is a proposed rule change to make outhaul systems like this leagle. There is a theard on these changes in the class politics forum. Personsally, i like to be able to remove my blocks from my system, i dont know why, but hey, whatever floats your boat!

how far is your centerboard coming up? you dont want it as high as it is while on a run, but you also want it to be a up for reduced drag. i would say put it up about 6 inches? also, you vang should be so that the leech is a little open, but not so its spilling out all your air.

The thing which i noticed to be your biggest problem was your gybes. this is a problem for me also. you are not sheeting though your gybes enough, and over steering, causing you to gybe really high, instead of pretty much DDW. what you want to do is initiate the gybe with your body weight...

i would say yes, put in an auto bailer. this will make your voyages much less wet for your feet, and it is pretty easy to install.

this used to happen to me alot during the summer. all you have to do is sheet less violently. its hard to find that balnce between getting caught on the transom and the boom but just do a million gybes and youll figure it out

okokok, so my 2 month old boat has the sail number 194497, so i doubt higly that a used boat would have a 20 :D

i settled on the rooster mainsheet about 2 weeks ago now, and it is much better than my old one. i got it in 7 mm and does not tangle, plus it is thick enough so that it doesnt slip out of my hand when going upwind. thanks for the suggestions! Matt

yes, the handicapp changes for the wind speed, so the 4.7 would be faster in 25 kts than a radial

yea i would say use epoxy to stick it back on

my yatch club has a trailer with room for 6 and i know one that has room for 13 (stupid) so it is deffinetly possible, i just dont know where to get one

all i know, is that my laser performance laser is a TON better than vanguard ones i have seen.

well, i just got my laser performance laser.... amazing compared to the vanguards is all i have to say. the hull is fantastic in comparison to someone elses 08 bought in november, where the hull and deck are connected at the gunnels, there is another layer of gelcoat ontop of the regular stuff...

yea i found this to be the case with my 6mm from southern lines, so it looks like im going for 7mm something.... :D

yea im just looking for a good mainsheet for when i gotta start hiking, cus the 6.5mm southern lines i have right now just aint cutting it. so what thickness would you suggest? 7 or 8 mm?
