I have done the repiar on the traveler eye with no problems. It spreads the load over a bigger area and gives a metal thread to screw into. A bit of selant when installing ensures that it is water tight.
I do not think your fears are well founded unless the wood under the fibreglass is completly...
Rule 16.1
When a right of way boat changes course, she shall give the other boat room to keep clear.
He changed course, there was a collision, His fault.

Read AlanD's post. You were on starboard and you did not hold your course. He tried to lee bow you and you changed course and hit him. Your fault.
If you held your course and he failed to keep clear and the boats touched then his fault.
If there is no collision then he can claim he kept clear...
The race will have a target time that may be in the sailing instructions. The length is then based on the wind strength and the average speed the boats sail at. It is also possible to change the length of a race if the wind changes. You may have seen a C flag with a + or - as you round a mark...
I Can see the air temp argument and wonder if anyone has any thoughts on how big the differance is like would 15 knots in cold air equal 20 knots in warm air.
Where does the water temp come into it?
Timb
Hi Guys,
How much effect does air temperature have on the boat performance? I find warm wind is less powerful for a given wind speed but I wonder how much of that is because I am warmer and in a better or more positive state of mind.
Thanks Timb
