that sucks that happened to a boat as new as yours. I think I would mix up some west system with high density filler and inject that into the screw holes, let that set then try redrilling. Maybe use 5200 to bed the screws in for a little insurance. I'm certainly not an authority on this...
That one looks like its had the bottom of the step reinforced, just like my club's boat had. The kit has a big deck doubler. the kit expensive and probably not worth it, imho. I hope the price is pretty low.......
by the way Taco, nice freaking shark with freaking laser beams on its head.
Our club boat had cracks like that. the bottom of the maststep stayed in the boat, the deck failed. We are debating putting one of those kits in it........ or making it into a hiking bench
Just say no to mainsheet cleats! or is it friends don't let friends cleat their laser sails? If you must put these on your laser, go sailing w/o them first, bringing a pencil w/ you, preferably in light air. mark where you sit in light air. nothing is more distracting than sailing whilst...
I know, I know, too much time in the pilothouse or in foulies, not enough time the the laser! still, I bet the ladies find the 3/4 hiker tan very attractive.......
Hello everyone,
I'm finally breaking down and buying some summer hikers. 12 years of standing around on steel decks is catching up with my knees and they now need some protection and support. I was wondering if anyone had tried the new SEA waistloc hikers yet? does the waist system work as...
Update: end for ended the top section. There weren't any cracks, or any real deep corosion to speak of. I guess UK spars (painted) last a little better. Anyhow, thanks to all for the advice
Mike
If you know the racing rules, there is no reason why you couldn't enter BBR. I've never done it in a laser, but with the strong sea breeze that sets up in August, as you well know, its sure to be a marathon event. The RC tends to do really long beats, so make sure you're in good shape. I...
Hey guys,
I had the just about the worst race in a long career of bad races this past saturday. deathrolled my rig into the signals rig of the RC boat!!! Ripped my regatta sail and called it quits for the day. Anyhow, I was wondering if there was a good way to know if my top section was going...
hey guys, I'm looking to replace my aging extrasport challenger this season. I had found an extrasport retroglide avenger ('07 leftover), which was so highly recommended here, in what extrasport said was my size (s/m). unfortunately its a little too small. I'm 5'08", 40 jacket, 35" waist, and...
Hey Ron, a great topic to bring up, at least for me, as I am on the market too. I sail in MA and NH on lakes and we experience conditions a lot like that in the spring and late fall.
yesterday I sailed in my ronstan skiff suit, a technical shirt, and a spray top. one of the people i was...

We just voted in Intensity Sails for our beer can series. I can't wait to get my new sail. I think we'll be upgrading some of our club boats with Jim's parts too! Its a great option for boats which never leave our lake. Keep it up Jim, you are the Robin Hood of laser sailing.
Re: Tiller Extension Lenght?
See if your buddies will let you try theirs first for a tack or two. Like the dubber says, "I've cut it twice now and its still to short....." I'm 5'8" and I use the 48" jr. but I've sailed cats and other stuff, so I'm used to extra ext. in some circumstances, such...
