I'm not sure, but I without looking I kind of think from the sounds that is what is loose... I'll have to open it up I guess and throw in an inspection port..
I've recently been moving my laser around and now when I flip the boat it sounds like something has come apart, when I flip it something is moving around inside.
It's a Laser 2, early 80's.
Any idea on what might be moving around? I suspect I should put in an inspection port to see, is it...
Thanks very much for the follow up and confirmation. You're right the "lock" is about 6 inches from the block, now I known Jib halyard stays on the outside.
It does sometimes get confusing with the different setups and trying to figure out what's right for what you have.

Many thanks for the reply, I have attached a photo of what my mast looks like. As I previously mentioned I understand how to get the halyard in the block and sky hook, and I understand how to use the "hook" near the mast foot. What I don't know is what to do with the halyard in between...

I have recently purchased a Laser 2 and I have had to replace the main halyard, the wire is good but the rope section was missing/ rotted.
I ordered a new halyard in the dimension suggested online, 3/16" at 45'.
The question I have is what type of "join" do you have between the halyard...
Does anyone have a picture of the "1½ Dishwasher 3/4 " threaded dishwasher connector" from John D.E.'s plans or know if this piece has a different name, I can't seem to locate it?
