    Wyoming??

I understand Lake Alcova hosts a regatta every June in which a number of Colorado sailors make it out. The regatta is for several classes including Lasers. The Laser fleet in Park City, Utah is starting to grow again, and I hope a few of will make the trek to Wyoming , Colorado and other Mtn...

    Windward shore landing techniques

Re: Leeward shore landing techniques All, I took many of your suggestions and those of another couple of sailors. Last weekend, I used a modified version of technique 4. Before making my approach I headed to wind and loosed and then untied the mainsheet at the aft boom block. I took out...

    Windward shore landing techniques

Sailorchick, this sounds like option 4 in the original post. Out of curiousity do you take off the mainsheet by untying the knot at the aft boom block or by letting it run out from the cockpit? Thanks.

    Windward shore landing techniques

Re: Lee shore landing techniques You're right. I should have said lee shore. I agree that landing when the wind is blowing from the land to the water makes things straightforward. It's when the wind is blowing from the water to the land coupled with the waves crashing on the shore that I'm...

Air Travel approved Hard Cases for blades?

Thanks....you've given me some good ideas. I never thought I would make a trip to the local Cabellas for Laser gear....:) Certainly if no hard cases work (at a reasonable price), it's good to know using pipe insulation, bubble wrap, and duct tape provide a good alternative. Thanks, Scott

Air Travel approved Hard Cases for blades?

I am looking for a hard case for my centerboard, rudder, tiller, extension, etc. Is there one made for the Laser foils specifically? I found an old thread that suggested using a rifle or archery case. Has anyone tried this and if so, what brand and source would you suggest? Thanks, Scott

    Class Politics  Fixed Rudder?

Is it legal to have the rudder fixed at the maximum allowable angle, so that it no longer retracts?

    100 degrees

Here's a link in a dry suit thread that references the "100 degree rule". There's an attachment about half way down that gives a guide line. http://www.laserforum.org/frostbiting-relative-terms-t7797.html?t=7797&highlight=dry+suit
