They're no more tippy than a laser. I think they are more stable. They can be singlehanded but it's really not set up for that and they aren't great as singlehanders.
It's a pretty bad idea to sail it without the jib, it will throw off the entire balance of the boat and won't sail very well...
I can't believe that LP is going to just let a multimillion dollar revenue stream go without a fight. I think this is going to get really messy really fast.
Yeah, sure the hardcore laser sailors who read these forums is going to know about the change, but what about the average recreational...
Seems pretty clear to me that Kirby et al are going to be contracting with a different builder very soon. LP is out but who knows how messy this could get.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least. A little voice told me LP has no 2013 lasers built and no plans to build them in the future because they can't get ISAF plaques. Make of that what you will.
