    Mast part needed

I had to replace mine as I bent the ^%$# out of it first time taking down the mast. Was easy to replace and not horribly expensive either. CatalinaDirect.com Best of luck

    Recommendation for new jib

I paid less than $500. I can't remember exactly but figured I was only getting one sail as opposed to main and jib given the price. I trust Neil Pryde and the rep Johnny Smith. I race with him on a Beneteau 36.7 (not his) and our skipper is in to his 2nd set of sails on that boat from Johnny...

New to sailing - new to the 14.2 - can I do this?

Mooseman, I thought you were done with the 14.2? Your comment about heeling 2 degrees in 20 kinda explains some of your earlier posts. No hard feelings. Did you sell your boat or do you still have it? What are you asking for it? After my capsize with my daughter (first time out for her) my...

New to sailing - new to the 14.2 - can I do this?

so how hard is it to right a turtled 14.2? The one capsize I had was only that, and we were back underway within 5 minutes. I was QUICK to get on the centerboard, neglecting to check on the other 2 who were with me. Thankfully they were OK and the boat didn't turtle.

    Recommendation for new jib

I bought all new Neil Pryde sails this year. Great price! They are not "class sails" but are cut identically just without the windows. I can give you a reps name if you need. Scott

    14.2 easy to capsize?

Dang! Well, I got mine wet for the first time 2 weekends ago with my wife as crew and had a great day in probably 7-10 knots of breeze. Then exactly what I didn't want to happen, happened this past weekend. DANG! I capsized on my 6 yr old daughter's first time out. It happened so quickly...

    14.2 easy to capsize?

I guess, I'll find out soon enough! Hoping to get mine wet for the first time in couple of weeks. I've read a lot about how tippy they are but like some of the previous replies..., hand on the tiller, sheet in hand and just being smart should keep you out of a lot of trouble. I have to admit...

    jib car placement

relative newbee here..., hoping to get my boat wet for the first time in the next couple of weeks but I am missing the port screw for the jib car adjustment. I remember reading in the Quantum Tuning guide (which I can't seem to even google and find today) some suggestions about modifying the...

    line lengths

I'm wanting to replace all the lines on my (new to me) 14.2 but don't have my manual with me. It's with the boat in a different city. Does anyone have the proper lengths and diameters for the the main and jib halyards as well as vang and outhaul? I've got the sheet lengths but am missing the...

Want to sail 14.2 in San Diego this Spring

what's it worth??? It's off a '99. Very lightly used. I had to buy new sails because the old ones sat out in the sun for years not used until the sails rotted. The furler is fine. I'll check around some pricing and see what I can do. Out of town next week to where the boat is...

Want to sail 14.2 in San Diego this Spring

New owner here. Bought a boat ('99) in great shape minus a mast step and I am switching from a roller furling Jib to a fixed forestay. Parts are on order but I don't plan to get my boat wet until the Spring. I'm also coming out to San Diego this Spring for a conference and wondered if there...

    Roller furling to fixed Forestay

how about the hallyard? Without the benefit of a handbook or parts list, where does my hallyard come from and go to? The roller furler jib was fixed without a hallyard before I got rid of the rag. Seems like a little bit of an issue to me, albeit one that I can overcome with help. Thanks, Scott

    Roller furling to fixed Forestay

Bought a used C14.2, '99 model, $750! Sails had to be replaced. Neil Pryde 3.8 oz dacron for $470 delivered. I'm pleased so far but..., the old head sail was on a roller furler with the forestay actually a part of the jib. The new sails have hanks. I need a forestay (and a mast step), but...
