Hi folks:
Finally commission my 14.2 this afternoon... Rigged everything and check over all my equipment and made a list for trailering, rigging and sailing... so I don't forget something inportant like the tiller...
I haven't had much luck contacting Catalina for questions, ordering parts...
Thanks for the suggestions... I picked her up yesterday and trailered home last night. Have everything laid out and working on final outfitting. Found 2 Herniations in the main halyard, so want to replace aSAP. Does anyone know the length and size/type of line to use... original looks like...
Why dfidn't I think of that...?
I believe the cleats forward of the shrouds are far enough forward to avoid the jib sheets. I'll have to wait and see. The marina didn't seem wary of my wanting to add cleats there... If needed, I'll remove them and pulg the holes. I'm used to bigger boats which...
Way to go!
I just picked up my Honda BF2D Long Shaft for my 14.2. It is light, and easy to transport. I had my dealer install the Catalina motor mount for me. I have a 2001 model. I was told to get the long shaft version, so I'll get back to you all about how it works for me in a week or so...
I ordered a Tiller Tamer and already have added 6" cleats to the stern and just forward of the shrouds for fenders/mooring/etc. Also added Topping Lift, 1 set of reefing points on mainsail with associated rigging.
I ALWAYS wear my PFD, just like my seatbelt in the car... everytime... all the...
Thanks for the suggestions, I was wondering how to lock the tiller somehow when I have to go forward... Were you referring to the Jib or Main Halyard to bring into the cockpit?
Jon
Thanks for the comments... I'll check into one after I get the boat in the water in a week or so... Dealer and others I have spoken to negated its usefullness.

Hello everyone,
Does anyone have suggestions for singlehanding the 14.2.
Rigging changes, trimming/tuning the rig?
Also looking for input about how to rig a cuddy area float bag (if necessary) and a method of organizing lines, PFDs, safety stuff, inside the cuddy so everything is at arms...
Reefing the Mainsail
I just purchased my 14.2 on the Cape (watersports) and had them install reefing points and hardware so I can singlehand reef the main. It also has the rollerfurling jib. Added a Topping Lift and Hobie Mast Float as well. Hope that this will afford me more time to right her...
I just purchased a 14.2 and was told that the whisker pole is not very worthwhile... any opinions about this? Since there is no rigging in place for a spinnaker, how exactly is the whisker pole going to help the jib?
Newbie here so there are no dumb answers...
