What to do for A Hole in the maststep?

If you are not planning on racing it and just want a quick fix. Buy a tube of 5200 fast cure and another metal mast step disc. Empty the entire tube into the mast step or at least enough to go significantly above the A Hole and drop the disc in, tap down gently and let it cure...Should be good...

    backing plates for mainsheet cleats

I'm curious to why you think the backup "plates" are no longer there. They are not plates per say but pieces of 3/4" marine plywood glassed into the underside of the deck. If you don't have inspection ports how can you tell they don't exist?

Traveler jam cleat & Backing plate thickness

3/4" marine plywood is the backing material. If you are racing use the alum cleats as you want hi-tech no stretch line for your traveller and it will saw through the plastic eventually.

Sunsail Colonna -- Anybody been there?

We went to Sunsail Colonna about 5-6 years ago with our then 19 year old son, his 19 year old buddy and our 15 year old daughter. The place was really laid back and mostly filled with British tourists (topless soccer moms by the pool made it interesting). Sailing was fun and easy, just stroll...

    ocean sailing in a laser?

Ideally you should sail with a buddy but as Steve says if you stay inside the breakwaters in the Bay you are pretty safe. Only other thing I would suggest is watch the tides and wind pressure, if the wind is dying and the tide is going out it is a long way back in the channel. Might want to...

    Hyde or North sail

All new Laser Race and Laser XDs are now coming with Hyde sails as standard, no more Norths. Since all Performance Sailcraft Europe boats come with Hyde sails...
