No, boats are made in China with final assembly in Portugal. I was in 2022 Worlds. Boats didn't have stickers MADE IN PORTUGAL, but sails had tags with MADE IN PRTUGAL. I bought the sail as a souvenir. Shape is not good. Just as bad as Bonaire. I had it too. Boats NO. Sails YES.

I already done that with boats that clamed to be made in the UK. How about you do your own legwork?

One more reason to not to buy Chinese.... sorry "Portuguese" made boats. :eek:

It looks like you can still buy 2021 Sunfish World Sail at Sunfish Direct.

One dude in my club painted top of his boat red and complained about paint rubbing off and staining his shorts. My recommendation was buying red shorts. If you not going to use gelcoat go with Awlgrip Marine Paint.

I helped a friend to put a bottom cup and it was too big. I turned it on a lathe to make it fit.

This is a good guess. Sunfish with racing sail (75 square feet) is rated at D-PN 99.6 Super Sunfish (65 square feet) is rated at D-PN 100.7 Not so super I guess :)

It is complicated, but I wanted all controls and all double ended. I could change it all to single and mount it on boom. Dropping traveler and inhaul could be a way to go. It's all for fun and experience. Here are photos of Super Sunfish rig.

I hate to put a dent on your idea but... I have Super Sunfish rig and I don't find it that great. I also rigged Europe dinghy rig on Sunfish and found it to be too much PITA to deal with and very little gain. Good thing I didn't drill even one hole in the deck and that was not easy.
