Hello,
I'm going to buy a used laser, but I'd like to know how old is she before marry him?;).
I have 2 options sail number 174.605 and sail number 184.403. Can you help me??.
Regards.

Wavedancer is pointing you in the right direction - for a rough idea, based on where the numbers were in North America, a 174xxx would be late 2001, early 2002 and the 184xxx boat would be late 2005/early 2006

Since neither is "new", what might be more important is how much use/care each had.

Thanks for your answers!. The 184... belongs to a sailing school on the beach and the 174... belongs to a second owner. Both look like the same conditions (under my point of view), some scrashes in the hull, and old sail. The price is aprox the same (just 150$ difference).
I know laser hulls are strong, but do you think a sailing school boat can have surprises that affect to the boat performance???

Not sure I would say Laser hulls are strong - they are cheaply made and where they could save money, they did (and do)

I would check the deck deflection where you would normally sit on both boats, and I would look closely on the bottoms for stress cracks - around the trunk and the rounded area between the hull bottom and hull sides - If all else is the same (spars are straight, blades in decent condition) between the two, I would pick the one that that has the least amount of deck deflection and stress cracks.
