mystery Laser

My uncle has a very old Laser (early to mid '70's) that he has offered to me. Thought it would be a fun project and a great starter boat for my kid. (tired of her beating up my new boat!)

I'm trying to find out when it was built, and I can't seem to find a serial number. There isn't a stamp on the transom, and after looking around the forum a bit, I saw the post to look under the bow eye. Nothing there. Doesn't look like there is anything in the cockpit.

Any other suggestions?

they didnt stamp the first prototypes so its a possibility but i doubt it, does the boat look like it was painted? because someone could have filled the serial number with bondo or ect.

Yes, it was painted. I'll dig deeper.

May be an early one. He has the sail. I'll see if that has a number.

well the sail could be from any boat, but it is a starting point. if you plan on sanding the boat you can check to see if you find some filler on the transom. that would be all i could tell you. if you do have a prototype that would be one of the coolest things. haha
