Laser Deck Covers

We had a storm a few weeks ago with reported 70kt gusts and my cover got shredded to bits. In your opinion, What do you think is the best deck cover for the money?

I have this one... I think it's hard to beat for $100.

It's a great cover... the only compliant I have is that the brummel hooks came off the bungee the first day I had it... I should have returned it, but it only took about 8 seconds to tie a knot, vs shipping it back, and waiting to get another...

I also have a Colie Sails cover that is heavier, and has held up really well for as old as it is. I find it hard to put on, likely by design, and it's 2.5x the price of the intensity...

I've recommended this cover on here before. I don't have much experience with other brands, but I like my cover made by Kinder Industries The quality and fit are great, and the cover has been very durable.
I bought from them vs somebody simply reselling the same ol' builder supplied stuff.

I sent you a PM - it's another member on the forum, local to you, building Sunbrella top covers for $120.

I use SLO sails. You can google them. Best bang for the buck that I could find. I bought one last year, then got another one this year or my girlfriend's boat

And it looks like they are now supplying Intensity Sails with some of the Laser covers that they sell.

If you are in texas....anybody.. Academy has some covers for 14 to 16 foot boats on clearance for $34.

I got one and pulled it over my spare boat and it is sorta sloppy but fits fine and teh elastic around teh perimeter holds it nicely. Four year guarantee too!!

the best ones are fabric not vynal as vynal cannot be repaired easily and infact rips more easily i have a vynal one on my laser and they are rubbish so get a fabric one then you can atleast patch it up and spray it with warterproofing stuff.

Do the deck covers described above fit over and work if you have the spars on top of the deck in the typical, on centerline, a couple of inches apart, a couple af inches above the deck storage position?

It seems like in the online catalogue pictures you can see the shape of the cockpit and the spars are not on the deck.

Which leads to the question, how do you store/transport/protect the spars?

I don't transport my boat much, but I did need something to keep the boat clean and if that is all you need, the Tyvek covers that Intensity sells can't be beat.

yes there is room under the fabric couvers as the way the cloth is woven means that it has a bit of streatch if required my friend has 3 bottom sections 1 top and one boom under his and it just goes on nice and tight.

Yeah I have the SLO sail. I bought it on ebay for $100 shipped and it is great quality, I keep all of my mast pieces, boom and sail underneath it.
Great quality, esp for the price.
