I saw a guy at the lake just yesterday with the exact same thing but in red. He didn't know what it was either and someone had told him once upon a time that it was possibly a Seahorse.
I know, they really went out on a limb with that info considering the logo.

I checked some of the clone fish info but have not found anything like that called a Seahorse.

Here is something:
http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=290017

which leads to (among others)
http://www.shortypen.com/brdboat/

The Seahorse is included among the 14' clonefish

Apparently, the Seahorse is also listed among the clonefish at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sunfish_sailor/

Thanks, Google!

We'll have to try harder than that to help this guy out, I'm afraid. The Seahorse is mentioned in the yahoo groups but no insignia is available. I think they pictured a hull but it's quality is not good enough to make an ID.
And the shortypen link mentions it but no info. :(

Thanks to all of you that have replied. Since my first posting I have actually brought the boat to my home and have been able to determine the following. It is 14' 5" and has the serial number of XUN00021M78I. I understand that it was built in 1978 and if anyone can help with the XUN protion, it may tell me who made the boat.
Thanks

XUN . . . SUN BOATWORKS, IRVING, TX (out of business - 6/28/1980)

00021 . . . Mfg serial number**

M78 . . . Built for model year 1978

I . . . Month built - I=April in the USCG "M" format

** not always a straight forward production record..., this could be hull #21 or it could be #21 for 1978 or it could be #2 for 1978, in hull color scheme #1. No telling without a factory explanation of their record keeping method.

Here's the whole address:

SUN BOATWORKS

What does the rudder look like. These are often proprietary designs and can be a helpful piece of the puzzle when linking boats with manufacturers, especially as one company sells out to another and boat names change or boat lines are expanded or contracted.

One observation, that halyard pulley appears to be unique among this type of boat. Something to watch for on similar boats..., it could lead to finding more information sometime down the road.

The hull has similarities to boats built by Goldfish Sailboats of Waxahachie, TX.
