How to wash your sail?

Well, I just recently came back from a regatta in Sarasota Florida, the wind was at a constant 25 with puffs of 35! It was pretty cool, but the "un-cool" part would be the capsizing! I went at least 10 times, and with it being quite shallow I got the head of my sail dirty. Are there any people out there who use soap or just a slight pressure to clean their sails, any methods would be appreciated! And also, how do you dry your sails, I hang mine up but if there are any other ideas I would love to hear them!

Thanks

lol that was a crazy regatta wasnt it too bad they didnt do any races off and the one reaching race was BS

Usually ill just use a high pressure hose with fresh water (not brackish)

Some dishwater soap, soft bristle brush - hose it off. Dry it on the lawn or hang it, just don't let it flap around.

Bleach does not degrade dacron (the fabric Laser sails are made from)

Bleach will degrade nylon (material for spinnakers/asyms) and aramid fibers (kevlar, twaron). Be aware that the webbing on the the head of the laser sail can be nylon.

Don't clean it. The mud is a status symbol!!!

send me a private message with your address and I will send you some "Radials Rules" stickers.
