Laser2 cunningham setup

The owners manual devotes 2 short sentences and 1 not clear picture. There's much more written about it and a video, all of which ends up being confusing. Could somebody make it short, sweet and clear how it should be rigged, considering that I'm not racing, and not using a spinnaker?

Tie one end of the line to the eyestrap at the forward end of the boom, or to the gooseneck fitting. Take the other through the cunningham eye to the cleat. No need for a stopper knot.

The cunningham is probably the least important adjustment on a Laser 2, and you could be sailing completely without it in most conditions. Just pull out the wrinkles when you're constantly overpowered.

There's an upper "eye" and a lower "eye", if that's what these are called. From the "eyestrap" to the upper "eye", through the lower "eye

", into the cleat. Corrections??

The upper eye is the cunningham eye. The lower is the tack eye, which should be attached separately to the eyestrap with a shackle or a short piece of rope. The cunningham line should run directly to the cleat from the cunningham eye.
